I can't disagree with anything that you have written.
I didn't mean to limit my comments about people's troubles with Vista though...some of the most frustratingly crazy times that i have ever had have been with computers...and i know them. it always makes me wonder how the average person does it. so i can understand the desire to get onto the platform that they know works.
i have a 360 and touch wood it has been good so far. when you are spending the kind of money that you need to invest in a gaming hobby, you expect it to work.
credit to m$ for stepping up...but as you note...a shame that it had to be like this and a shame that a class action suit had to happen. its sad for me because as a 360 guy i would like nothing more than for people to really get onto 360, but the hardware is the most often cited reason for not getting on. i think that m$ had better realize that the internet is a powerful voice out there.
