Why can't they do all that stuff when they get back?

I don't know, call me old-fashioned, but if a war has to be fought because your country is under a direct and urgent threat then you sign up if you can.

But these kids didn't get involved. They went to frat parties and stats classes. Why didn't they get involved? Because they know this whole Iraq war is a load of rich creamery butter, and they had better things to do.

Most people do. You can't deny that he has managed to influence the world, regardless of what liberal hypocrites want to call him.
I don't really know what you are getting at here. Are you trying to tell me that he has influenced the world? If so, thanks, but I knew that. And you can't deny that we'd all be better off if he didn't chicken out when he had the chance to defend freedom from another gathering danger.

Maybe they don't have higher beliefs, but they believe they can fight the dangers that they percieve more effectively in different ways, as I've outlined above. It just isn't black and white. I'm sorry if that makes it harder to insult people that you know very, very little about though.
No need to apologize. I don't really need to know a lot about these people to insult them though. Just knowing that they are still rah-rah-rah-ing this war while actively staying out of it tells me all that I need to know.
