Does anyone remember when they had Graham James live in the studio and Lownsborough started really grilling James about what happened in Swift Current, asking him really pointed questions about why they practically drove him out of town with pitchforks? After a bit of this line of questioning by Lownsbrough, James said he wasn't going to put up with such treatment, tore his mic off his collar and stomped off the set. When he stood up it became apparent he was wearing nothing below the belt except Speedo swim suit bottoms!! He had a regular shirt on, but he'd been sitting there behind the desk wearing frikin Speedos ... what a creep. It's no wonder Lownsbrough was letting him have it.
This all occurred a quite a while before the whole Graham James scandal broke ... about a year before as I recall. At the time I was kind of amazed at how agressive and down right rude Lownsbrough was being to him, but it all made sense when the whole story broke. Lownsbrough is a good ole Saskatchewan boy from Carnduff, which isn't too far from Oxbox, if you know what I mean. He obviously had his connections to junior hockey in Sask and knew what was going on with that creep James, but didn't have anyone who would go on the record and come right out and accuse James of being a pedophile.
That's the one episode of Sport At 11/11:30 that I'll always remember, just because Lownsbrough labelled that SOB James, and James knew it. Aside from that though, the jokes and humour were great too.
