I don't know if it were true or not, but I'd be there.
I've been watching wrestling for atleast 17 years. I have dreamed of going to a Wrestlemania since that time. I have been a fan since a sleeper, elbow from the second rope and a leg drop were considered "finishers". I know what kayfabe is. I've road triped to Edmonton to see Smackdown, Kelowna to watch one of the only WCW Nitros in Canada, and almost every taping in Calgary. And yes, I know that wrestling is scripted, but never call it fake!
Feasable? Oh hell yeah. Consider this... house shows in Calgary may have only scored around 6000. But this is Wrestle-F'n-mania. People from all over the world travel to whatever city it's in to be a part of the biggest event of the year. If you think the McMahon/Dome won't be sold out, you have got to give your damn head a shake. Not only will every of the 20,000 "hockey" seats be filled, but the floor seats that they hold of an event like this will also be sold out. IMO they will have to have more floor seats then at a RAW or house show due to the size of the event. The prime tickets usually fetch $300 a seat from Ticketmaster, not scalpers.
Having WM22 at McMahon is a weather gamble, but they will be able to have more seats available for the event.
Bret and Vince are on talking terms, but not quite on professional terms from what I have read online. For those of you that think that Bret wouldn't do anything at a WM in Calgary, you've gotta be kidding me. Not only would he be inducted in the WWE Hall Of Fame (yes, Pete Rose beat Bret Hart into the HOF), but he will be the main reason that WM would be in Calgary. No Bret, No WM in Cowtown. It's a fact.
"In Your House: Canadian Stampede" was held in Calgary durring the "Greatest Outdoor Show On Earth". I can't remember the year... I am guessing around the 96/97 time cause I was still in high school, and I was front row. Infact, if you pause "Wrestling With Shadows" at the right time, you can see me try to give five to Golddust.
And yes I do have a life outside wrestling. It was something introduced to me at a young age. I trained really hard, said my prayers and ate my vitamins. It was introduced to me at about the same time as hockey... and I'm a nut about hockey.
Bottom line is that WM in Calgary is feasable IMO. But there are many factors involved... But around the Rumble you hear rumours about where the WM 2 years away is being held. They'll announce it around WM21.
Here's me crossing my fingers.
