The first step, I think, is to just get excercise. Too many people try and get a quick fix to loose weight but it's not that easy. If you want to loose the weight and keep it off you need to make life changing alterations, not just temporary ones.

For the past 5 years I have been lifting weights at my local gym. I would have thought during that time I would loose weight because of the increase in muscle mass and activity but I didn't. I figured the reason for this was just 'I was built that way'.

In December of 2006 I decided to completly change the way I eat. I stopped eating all forms of sugar, aside from natural sugars found and fruits and vegetables and cut down on carbohydrates. I have been doing that since that time and I feel great. I am increasing carbohydrate intake slowly and I do eat a chocolate bar every once in a while or something sweet (maybe once or twice a month).

I went from 264 lbs in December 2006 to 194 lbs currently.

A lot of the time it's just finding the right eating plan and workout regiment for you but what I suggest is try and get one hour or so of excercise a day for 4-5 days in the week and really look at what you eat. Those other plans (i.e. Herbal Magic, etc.) seem like a waste of money for something you can do yourself for free pretty much.

Just remember, the core of every diet/eating plan out there is you MUST burn more calories throughout the day than you take in.
