Friday's Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver was the most-watched television program in Canadian history, with an average of 13.3-million viewers watching every single minute of the 3.5 hour ceremony.

The previous record was the 10.3-million Canadians who watched the 2002 gold-medal hockey game between Canada and the United States.

The gold medal game with Canada vs. Russia will get more viewers. ;)

Meh. I watched most of it since it was on every TV at the bar, not because it was particularly enjoyable.

I'm sure that number will be a lot higher if the Canadians make the finals this year.

Aren't those 2 numbers not really comparable though as they use a different rating system now which has resulted in significantly higher viewership totals then the previous system?

When Canada makes the Gold Medal game in Mens Hockey, they'll hit 20 Million.
