Is this a huge blow to the french squad?

Most definitely... as much of a flake and a diver Zidane can be, he is still one of the most skilled, crafty and recognizable soccer players of all time.

Any time anyone loses a guy like this, its a huge blow.

I'd bet he won't be the last one to retire in the next while, France is gonna be an average team for a while as they change the guard.

This will be a huge loss for France. He is the best playmaker in the world....well one of the best. But I'm sure there are solid young mid's from France.
