Simply put, Ladd wasnt gelling well with the Avs. He was given every opportunity to succeeded (Top line RW, top PP mins, PK mins, etc.). Ian came to me with a perfect lateral move (same age, same OVR) so I took it because I wasnt losing anything. Thanks Ian for the easy talks.

Interesting deal, Wolski is a skilled guy with good size who is going to get a fair bit of quality ice time this year. Ladd had a good year with the Blackhawks last year, but he also had Bolland and Havlat with him for pretty much the whole season.

I can see Wolski having a career year....just because as Syl noted he's going to get the ice-time.

I have had my eye on Ladd from day one of me being named GM of the Sharks. Wolski will be a decent player and yes he will probably have a career year this year with the Avs, but it wasn't fair to have him playing on the 4th line.
