I knew a guy who applied and made it to the interview. They asked him a bunch of questions about the current Firefighter community in Calgary (how many halls, who's the chief etc.). He didn't do too well.

Good luck!

Not anymore - there used to be.

If you want to listen you'll have to purchase your own scanner. :bag:

Weeeeird.... 3 days ago, my buddy and I were having a beer and he lamented that he hates his dead end job. So we started chatting about what he wants to do instead of toiling in a kitchen for the rest of his life and he said that he'd absolutely love to become a firefighter. We both thought it would be a great idea for him. Then yesterday, I just happened to have business in the Blackfoot industrial area and I just happened to pass by the fire dept headquarters and I thought to myself "huh. Didn't know that was there...."
Gotta call him and tell him about this. Thanks for posting, J3FFR3Y.

edit to add that Mondays are my buddy's only day off. Looks like the stars are aligning.

No problem. If your buddy wants to be a fire fighter, now is the time to apply because they are going to be hiring in big amounts this year and the next. Im currently on step 3 of the hiring process and im just flying along it to.

So J3FFR3Y,
From the look of your avatar, I take it you are now a bona fide fireman. Correct?
How is the new job going?
