I am starting a new job and my boss says he needs my bank info for direct deposit, I don't have cheques and I was wondering what info I need to give him.

Thanks

If you goto a bank they can draft you up a void cheque with all your info....if not, I'm pretty sure all you need is branch number, routing (?), and account number.

If not you can phone your bank and they can tell you over the phone...atleast I was able to do that with RBC.

I love how you can ask any random question on CP, and somebody will answer you within minutes.

You will need the bank number, transit number and the account number. Some places will want something from the bank to do this though...so you might have to hit a branch.

Bank Name:
Transit Number: (5 Digits)
Institution Number: (3 Digits)
Account Number:

Thats all you need.

For those who have cheques, there should be four groups of numbers. First is the cheque number (usually three digits), second is the branch code (often five digits), third is your bank code (three digits) and last is your account number. All of the groups of numbers are required except for the first group.

edit: In the time it took me to write this, the previous poster sort of beat me to it. :D
