Prentice, who was industry minister, is going to environment as the government prepares to bring in new regulations that will have a large impact on Ontario and Quebec's manufacturing sector as well as on the oil sector in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

"The prime minister wanted somebody that he has total trust in to make sure he gets it right so that it doesn't cause a lot of harm to the economy," CTV's Ottawa Bureau Chief Robert Fife reported Thursday.

Is this interesting? I honestly have no clue if it will have any effect at all on the recent copyright legislation from the other thread. Secondly, does this mean we can expect the same kind of treatment with our oil revenues (or whatever the better word to us here is)?

Roma Ambrose is sitting on the sidelines, I guess she's just not a rising star anymore.

First thing I noticed. I'm guessing her downfall started with her embarassing the country with her off tangent rant at the UN CC conference.

Anyone got any thoughts/opinions on Jim Prentice?

Newly elected Nunavut MP Leona Aglukkaq enters cabinet as the new health minister. That's a super tough position for a rookie.
Probably means health will not be a Government priority in the next session.

Prior to running for MP in this election she was the health minister for Nunavut. So she's not without experience.

Rona is my MP and I know her personally. She's as lovely in person as on TV. She's still a rising star, IMO.

I automatically did an Adam's apple check.

As for the story, the only thing that matters to me is how the Cons govern, not who's in the Cabinet.

Another term of making even votes over lunch menus confidence issues will be a joke.

Guess I should have been more clear, it was bad joke in reference to her ability to go into labour if it is her choice to have a child, and labour being her new cabinet post. Get it giving birth is labour, she is minister of labour... I think I struck out on that one.
