FLAMES SIGN SEVEN TO TRY-OUT AGREEMENTS
Team to Begin Training Camp on Tuesday at i wireless Center

Moline, IL- The Quad City Flames announced today that goaltender Scott Reid, forward Mike Hamilton and defensemen Brandon Straub have been signed to Professional Try-Out Agreements as the team prepares to open their 2008 Training Camp. Center Troy Ofukany, forward Jeff Pierce, center Justin Bowers and goaltender Ryan Dutton were signed today to Amateur Tryout Agreements. The Quad City Flames 2008 Training Camp opens at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30th at the i wireless Center.

Reid appeared in 44 games in 2007-08 for the Rocky Mountain Rage of the Central Hockey League. The Grande Prairie, Alberta native posted a 24-14-4 record with a 3.23 goals against average and .900 save percentage. He was named the 2003-04 CHL Most Outstanding Goaltender and has also appeared in four CHL All-Star games.
Hamilton appeared in 72 games last year as a rookie for the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL. He scored 50 points on 23 goals and 27 assists. Prior to beginning his professional career, Hamilton played four years at the University of Maine. During his collegiate career, he appeared in 136 games and recorded 65 points on 20 goals and 45 assists.
Straub spent the 2007-08 season with the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL. He played in 55 games and posted 12 points (three goals and nine assists) with 131 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4, 223-pound defenseman also appeared in nine games for the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL.

Ofukany split the 2007-08 season between the Red Deer Rebels and the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League. He played 30 games for the Rebels recording 27 points (10 goals and 17 assists) and 27 games for the Pats where he recorded 16 points (six goals and 10 assists). He spent his first three seasons in the WHL with Kelowna where he helped the Rockets win the 2005 WHL Championship.
Pierce begins his professional career after four years at WesternMichiganUniversity. In 2007-08, he recorded 16 points (nine goals and seven assists) and 35 penalty minutes. During his collegiate career, Pierce appeared in 127 games and posted 71 points on 33 goals and 38 assists.

Bowers spent last year at St. ThomasUniversity where he accumulated 39 points (15 goals and 24 assists) in 28 games. For his efforts, he was named to an Atlantic University Sport Second Team All-Star. In 2006-07, during his first year at St. Thomas, he was named to the Atlantic University Sport All Rookie Team and was St. Thomas’s Rookie of the Year.

Dutton comes to the Flames after playing the last three seasons at Mount RoyalCollege in Calgary, Alberta. During his junior career he skated with the Coquitlam Express of the British Columbia Hockey League and the Calgary Canucks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

he was very good met his best friend during the camp had a interview set up with him but never met up with him.
