With just one win in their past 11 games, the New Jersey Devils hopes of a playoff spot have faded. The Devils are currently 9 points out of a playoff spot. "Even when we went on our winning streak, we only gained a few points because every night a few teams ahead of us always seem to be winning. If we are going to struggle we might as well bring in some good young players that can get some experience at the cphl level' GM Walsh said.

Walsh made 2 trades today:

First the Devils sent center Shaun Van Allen to the Flames for young center Sean Avery. In this deal, we got a player 12 years younger then Van Allen. Shaun was thanked for all his hard work especially on the penalty killing units.

The second trade made by Walsh today had the Devils sending Murray baron, a 5th round pick and a small amount of cash to the Wild for Alexander Korolyuk, and Patrick Traverse. "Murray's play has been so good for us but again we are getting younger and I think we have found a good player in Korolyuk. We took Traverse to help the Wild balance out their roster" Walsh said.

The second trade is pending league approval.
