A little bit of summer time fun!

Remember a short time ago there was a guy that started with a red paper clip and wanted to trade it for something and then eventually he ended up with a house?

Well I thought we would take the slow days of summer and do something similar here on Calgarypuck. It might be fun and we’ll see where it ends up. A little twist to the whole thing though…whatever the final item ends up being, I am going to donate the item to the local charity Edson Kids in Sports Association and they can then raffle it off to raise funds for the program.

The Edson Kids in Sports Association is a program designed to assist children that would typically not have the financial resources to become involved in minor sports or school sports program.

If you don’t recall how this works, its very simple. I want to trade something for something else and then trade that item for another item. This might involve some mail/shipping so please be prepared for this. If someone has a rule or something that they feel should be involved in this little exercise, please feel free to PM or email me at axel@valqwest.ca.
Alright? Lets go….

I have an Autographed Lanny McDonald golf ball. This ball was given to me by a friend that was involved in a Oilman’s Golf tournament here in Edson where Lanny was a guest player. I am quite confident that my friend wont mind me using it to help out a charity.

I think it's a neat idea. I'd be in, but I'm sort of drawing a blank as to what I could trade you that had comparable value but was easy to ship to Calgary from Boston....

Actually it would be to Edson, Alberta, just a stones throw from Calgary (4.5 hr drive):)

I'd offer up that stupid house of mine in St.Albert....but I sort of need that $400,000 for myself.

I would be willing to trade you this MacDonalds Iginla mini jersey signed by the man himsel. I'm not sure if that really puts you ahead though. Flamesgimp's brand new microwave may be a better trade up.

I think it's a neat idea, but it's so hard to estimate what the value of a Lanny McDonald golf ball would be. I have no idea what it would take to actually be an upgrade on the golf ball. Might be easier to start with something more concrete in value.

Agreed, that's why the microwave is probably a better idea than my signed mini jersey, because a microwave is something someone can say "yes, I need one", and then they can find something around the house that's worth more, but somethinng they don't really need.

I may have an opened but never used stereo. If my wife wants to get rid of it and the microwave is suitable for our needs, then I may be able to offer up the stereo (assuming the stereo would be worth more than the microwave... it should be).
