Breaking News out of Florida

Considering how much time and effort it takes to run a CPHL team these days, Florida GM Dave Penney has announced that fellow Newfoundlander Jeff Young (Goffie) will now be in charge of the AHL and ECHL responsibilities.

San Antonio will be Goffie's primary responsibility as the team is in the hunt for a sponsorship award.

"We currently sit in 4th place in the conference with a record of 13-11" said Penney. "We need to better this record if we hope to get that sponsorship. Goffie will have full control until he one day can manage his own CPHL franchise".

Rumor has it that he was a finalist for the job in Pittsburg but he lost to former GM who had a lot of experience.

"This is a great day for me" said Goffie. I think that Mr. Penney has done an amazing job with this franchise. He has really stuck to his goal as he is completely rebuilding. We have a bunch of quality young players and I look forward to working with Mr. Penney to better this franchise.
