Any player on the last year of his deal becomes a UFA next summer. Act now, dont delay, negotiate <neg-O-shee-ate>

Isnt that only for players over 29?

those under would still be RFA isnt that right?

Just making sure I did not miss something as the rules still say 29 is the UFA thresh hold.

Thanks

Ok, great this has been brought up…..

How about a guy like Tim Jackman who becomes a RFA this offseason, and lets just say his agents makes a demand of 5 million a year, therfore and I just laugh.

Do we now have our leagues first holdout, with the Hurricanes owning his rights still but just not as active player. Because I would really hate to see a player become a FA just because of either a GM or Agent being a dink.

Yea ive made a offer for a said player and the agent wanted to wait tell the end of the season. I figured that was fair enough, maybe the guys worth goes up and he deserves a bit more coin but So far however his current salary should be split in half for what he has done. But I would of hated to lose the guy for nothing come the end of the season. This post had me worried there for a split second.

Nothing fair at anytime dealing with agents...I suggest finding common ground. Im assuming there might be holdouts...thats part of the game.

Do we have tiered contracts as an option now?

$1.0M 1st year, $1.3M 2nd Year, & $2.0M 3rd Yr for example.

Last time I enquired about tiered contrats I was told it was not possible yet.

Technical Dept. is working on it but it is not possible as of yet. We will post when it is ready. Sorry there is no timeframe at this time. As Cheese mentioned an email has been sent to inquire.
