From a hockey perspective, he was basically the prototypical Sutter player. Big, strong, energy player, he was the captain of a very talented Windsor team which says a lot for his personality and leadership skills.

But at a time like this hockey doesn't matter. For a 19 year old kid to pass away suddenly at home is terrible. RIP.

This is a sad news. Thoughts goes out the family and the Windsor organization.

This is the second time a Flames prospect passed away before wearing a Flames jersey. The first one was big George Pelawa, a first round pick by the Flames.

Very nice ceremony before the Spitfire's first game since Mickey's passing.
Very emotional.

Windsor is down 2-1 after the first period.

Did they wear those jerseys all game? I assume that would be hard on the officials.

Also, did Guelph (I think it was them) stay with those jerseys, or was that just for warmup?

A nice touch by both teams for sure.

It was the Belleville Bulls, and they only wore them for the warm up, then they presented them to the Spitfires after.
I thought it was most touching when the Spits laid their warm up jerseys on the table.
Belleville also showed extreme class after the game, when they were banging their sticks on the ice for Windsor, and then they came and shook all their hands.
