Just wondering where I might be able to find what resolution the Canadian HD channels are broadcast in.

The closest thing I could find is this .pdf (http://www.tri-vision.ca/documents/2006/HD%20Channels%20in%20Canada%20Nov%202006.pdf) that shows which HD channels are available and which provider offers them.

However I read in another thread that Bell ExpressVu's HD channels are all 780p, with only CBCHD transmitted in 1080i.

Is there any documentation that supports this?

I'm also curious what StarChoice and Eastlink broadcast their HD channels in.

I think my starchoice HD box supports up to 720p (maybe i, I dunno) , not that that tells you much other than it isn't MORE than 720p

I can confirm that Starchoice does only broadcast in 1080i. Even for channels like Fox and ABC that broadcast in 780p, starchoice converts to 1080i.

I know I have read this somewhere on digtial home canada, theres alot of good info on that site!

I'm not sure which Canadian HD stations are broadcasting at 1080i except for CBC and SRCHE, appear to be and keep an eye on Bell so they dont' downgrade to 720p. According to this poster on post #287, the rest of the signals Bell uses are down converted to 720p which is against CRTC regulations. There is lots of good info in this thread and you may find what you are looking for if you wade through it. The best uncorrupted HD signal will either come Over The Air or on a Free Too Air big dish. I think someone in Toronto receiving OTA signals could get a readout on their TV as too the signal.
