So we've got a whole pile of CDs that were ripped into WMA format (Stupid Mediaplayer default settings). Is there a way that I can easily batch convert them into MP3 format?

iTunes will convert them as you add them to your iTunes library. Just make sure it's set to encode in mp3 rather than aac.

There's tons of free software that will so this.

Keep in mind that unless they were ripped into lossless WMAs, you'll be transcoding them (going from one compression scheme to a different one). That usually ends up with pretty poor sound. Re-ripping them would be preferable.. either that or use the a good MP3 encoder (LAME) and use a really high setting to try and mitigate the loss.

Or give it a try and see how it sounds first I guess, everyone is different and some aren't as picky as others.
