Record
21 GP 10 W 10 L 1 T 72GF 69GA
Goaltenders:
Roman Chechmanek
Brian Boucher
Grade:C
Leafs have struggled all year with inconsistent goaltending. Goalies have yet to steal a game for the buds. Chechmanek was shipped out of town for Kipper so there is a chance to turn the season around.
Defence:
Grade:b-
Defense has been decent at limiting shots however they have struggled with the the transition game. Failure to provide speedsters like Koivu and Kariya with crisp breakout passes have contributed to the offense's low shot total.
Failure of any defenceman to run he powerplay has to be addressed.
Offense:
Grade b
This is supposed to be Toronto's strong point however failure to provide consistent efforts on a nightly basis has led to the substandard record the Leafs posses. Outside of Nedved no one has really stepped forward. Low shot total and the inability of Kariya and Amonte to provide consistent offensive pressure has led to the B rating. Injuries have played havoc with line stability.
More moves to come as the Leafs are looking to move some of the depth they have on the wings.
