Wild Acquire David Legwand
Dvorak Sent Packing
The Minnesota Wild continue to tinker with their line up…
In the latest deal the Wild have sent winger Radek Dvorak and center Sami Pahlson to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for young center David Legwand and depth forward Andre Roy. The Wild also sent cash to Edmonton in the deal.
GM Grant Farhall commented on the deal:
“David is a player we really like. People forget he’s still only 23 despite being in the league for many years. He’s defensively responsible center that has a lot of offensive upside. That being said, we are sorry to see Radek go, particularly since lately he has really played well for us.”
The Wild also announced that they had signed free agent defenseman Chris Tamer to a 2 year deal. Tamer will be inserted immediately in the lineup taking the place of Mike Wilson who has been shaky at best.
Legwand and Roy will be in transit tomorrow and will not make it in time to play in the Wild’s game against the Maple Leafs. The Wild have a tough schedule ahead of them with 6 games in 6 nights. Jocelyn Thibault is expected to get the start in tomorrow’s game.
