Making the grade: WHL education program a hit with players
It's the poster boys of the league's academic scholarship program -- Chris Nielsen, Kevin Heise, Blair St. Martin, Byron Penstock.
And, true to its word, the WHL's education offer is as good as it gets.
Simply put -- players, for every season played, receive one year worth of full tuition, textbooks and compulsory fees. The arrangement is good at any post-secondary institution, including technical schools and professional training courses.
