the Pats look good on their first drive, 91 yards for the score. Wes Welker looking good in his debut, Moss with a 19 yard reception for his first official play.

and the Jets tie the game. 2 blown opportunities by the Pats and suddenly, the Jets are back in there.

Broncos outgaining Buffalo 2:1 midway through the 2nd quarter. Buffalo leads 7-6 on a punt return TD by Roscoe Parrish.

Travis Henry already has 65 yards on the ground. The Broncos need to start punching it into the freaking end zone.

and now they just gave up a 48 yard kickoff return. Looks like the coverage teams have some major work to do still.

I think Denver will be okay in this one, DFF.

EDIT: Cutler picked off,I spoke too soon.

Huge TD for the dolphins

Up 7-3 at half.

4 seconds left in the half third and goal and miami decides to go for the TD and gets it. Green looks good!

Mario Williams scores a defensive TD for the Texans. The Chiefs are in big trouble. The offense is just totally out of synch. Herms' challenging possession for a fumble.

Randle El is torching the Fins secondary...3 catches for 100 yards. Jason Campbell has just 5 completions but has 124 yards in those 5 completions.

Adrian Peterson with a pretty big game so far.
19 carries for 103 yards
1 reception for 60 yards and a TD

This makes me VERY happy. Although the injury to Chester Taylor kinda scares me.

Well the idiot Bills only used 40 seconds on the next possession so maybe there is hope yet for the Broncos.

Then they get a penalty on the punt that ends up netting Denver 23 yards from the original punt.

Maybe.....

Henry 22 carries for 142 yards now. Nice debut.

Yeah, I was a victim of outthinking myself.....Go with Pittsburgh to destroy Cleveland....no they're on the road too risky...take Jacksonville and their tough D at home looking to get their fans excited. Yeah right, I'm out before week one is half ways done. Ouch.

It's amazing...10 years ago if Denver was down by 2 on the road with 2 minutes to go and the ball, I'd be so confident.

Now, I'm hoping...and that's not a statement against Jay Cutler. It's amazing the air of confidence that surrounded John Elway in these situations.

Cutler with over 300 yards passing...to several different receivers. Travis Henry goes for 139!

The Broncos hold the Bills to 97 passing yards (- sack yardage!) and 122 rushing yards. The net will be less than 200 total yards.

Great road win!

Great effort today. Now, on to Carolina where they need to lay a licking on a legit team to show the rest of the league how far they've come.

I thought they had first down yardage and would do the spike play too. But if they didn't they would have spiked the ball on 4th down and turned it over. Either way pretty crazy how they got the FG team on the field and got the play off in time. Talk about having just enough time to make it work. Crazy.

Well so far I picked 11 out of 13 games right....and I'm dead last in the pick'em pool because I lost two big point games. Mind you I don't think anyone else has missed a pick or so it seems everyone else is 12-1 at worst and lost their 1 point game. Tough week for me, I'll have to make up some serious ground here.

Is it really that good? I figured I was a lock to be in first as I have only missed my 4 point game with 3 games to go.

Yeah, with my two bad picks I took 30 points off the board...realistically the best I can hope to do now is finish 17 out of 21....and one guy made one pick and another guy didn't pick any games (although he's apparently unofficially keeping track). So really one guy who made picks will likely end up below me. I think last year I had 69 points in week one and was middle of the pack. This year I could have 106 and be hind teat.

I picked up him and LenDale in one of my drafts. I didn't know which was going to be featured so they were bothe on the pine this week (I always load up on RBs - I also have Marshawn Lynch, Portis, Maroney, Parker and Adrian Peterson (Minn)). Maroney and Parker were my worst RBs (This league has 1 RB and 3 flex positions, so I started 4 RBs)

I'm pretty high on LenDale too. Him and Brown could be a wicked 1-2 punch in the backfield as early as, well, this year. Combined with Vince Young's running ability it should open up some WR's downfield out of respect for the run. Atleast that's what I'm hoping for. >.>

Ouch rough game for the Giants. They lose Jacobs, Umiyura and now Manning to go with Dockery. Their defence also gets lit up terribly in the process too. Whats the over under on what week Tom Coughlin gets fired....week 8?

Still not as bad as the Bills.

On top of Everett's spine injury, their starting safety broke an ankle, starting CB broke an arm, and a LB tore a knee ligament.

Wow Buffalo sports fans just seem to have the worst luck. I was thinking back to previous week 1 Bills games and they just seem to lose in the most devestating ways. I think in 2002 they went to overtime with the Jets and the Jets took the opening kick for a touchdown. 2 years ago they lost to the Jags on the last play of regulation, and then today. Just heartbreaking to go along with the superbowl runner ups, Hulls goal, music city miracle, and so on.

Pats looked amazing today. But my god the Jets had no pass rush at all, and just let brady stand back there all day. Pathetic job.

The Lions still won today, but there's no way they get to Kitans predicted 10 wins.

Griese starts in how many weeks?

Cards just got screwed.

No way that's a fumble. Holt hits the reciever as he lands and knocks the ball loose - that's an incompletion.

No they didn't. He maintained possesion, made a football related move and then lost the ball. That's about as clear a fumble as I've seen.

Football related move? What's that? Landing his jump?

Watch the tape in real time and not MNF's extra slo-mo and tell me that's a fumble.

Yeah I agree. Not controversey at all on that one. When I first saw it - from the original angle it looked like an incompletion but the replay clearly showed it was a fumble.

A couple of great finished tonight. I quite enjoyed both games.

Gotta love the 'prevent defense'. Cards attacked the Niners all game holding him to 100 total yards (30 in the 2nd half) up until the final drive. Then some genius decided 'Let's drop back and be very careful and not give up any big plays and give up 86 yards!"

Bobblehead
09-11-2007, 08:29 AM
They changed the rule this season; there is no requirement for a "football related move", all you need is to come down with possession.

Fugly game. This was a case where They needed to let Smith take a couple deep shots early. As it was, by focusing everything on the run or short the defense was able to pin its ears back and charge. A few draw plays would have been nice, too. But you don't get points on the quality of the wins, they are all worth the same.
