They should rename the Hitmen

[Calgary Flames]

Does anyone else think the name "Hitmen" just sucks?? What would you rename them as?

I think "Stallions" would be a decent name.

Actually, I really like the name "Hitmen" for a hockey team. It's pretty unique. I can't think of another sports team anywhere named "Hitmen".

1. Stallions nice name for a gymnastics brigade

2.Why re-name the Hitmen? Its as good a name as any.

3.Hitmen name holds the tradition of the original owners, including Brett.

Change the name? What for? Keep it The Calgary Hitmen, it has tradition.

If you want to change it to Stallions so it relates to Calgary more, then you probably want The Flames to change their name to the Broncos too dont' you?

yeah....... many years after the Calgary Hitmen was started by a famous ex-wrestler Bret Hart the XFL started by WWE president Vince Mcmahon had a team named Hitmen.

Where do you think they got the name???

Yeah sorry to pile on SN, but that's crazy talk. I think "Hitmen" is a great name. The pinkosity of their original look was quite lame but the name is a good one.

:lol: Didn't realize this would stir up this much. I still think it's a terrible name though but thinking back The Stalions isn't the best one I could've come up with. Maybe the Mustangs now that that soccer team is defunct. Or not, just thinking out loud... I've just never though "The Hitmen" was that great a name.

Hitmen is a wicked name IMO.

Ithink stallions sounds to "football" related..also kind of sounds stupid.

it's better than "Screaming Eagles" IMO, notice I generally refer to my CHL team as the "Eagles" unless in some official sense like Moncton Wildcats @ Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. The Screaming just sounds so so so dumb, like they're a little kids team or something. But Cape Breton Eagles I like fine
