Former major league pitcher Ugueth Urbina (http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/player_bio.asp?player_id=1123) was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the attempted murder of five workers on his family's ranch, a local newspaper reported Wednesday.

....

The 32-year-old free agent was accused of joining a group of men in attacking and injuring workers with machetes and pouring gasoline on them at his family's ranch, located about 40 kilometres south of Caracas.

WOW, way to throw away the good life after earning millions. 14 years in a venezualean prison doesn't sound like fun

Wow and I would think Venezuela is one of the top 5 countries in the world in which you can buy your way out of justice.

"The first overall in this years Venezualian Penal Bbaseball League...."

I'm sure I could get him as a reliever, but I wonder if he'll get any starts.
