I am not cheering for anyone in this one, I just want an entertaining baseball game.

I don't like the Sox, but I AM cheering for them in this one. How can you not? unless you were already a Yankee fan to begin with, in which case you don't have a soul. That said, I still think the Yanks will take it.

I am not a Yankees fan by any menas and am cheering for them. There are not many teams that would make me cheer for the Yankees but the REd Sox certainly are one that does. I hate them!!!

Im rooting for the Red Sox, but they havent won a game 7 since the 1918 world series.

This crowd is really into it early on. You can tell they are all on edge.

So much just happened! Damon gunned out at home, then Ortiz goes deep for a 2-run shot

2-0 SOX!

Damon really effed up by trying to take home there. While I think he might have been safe, no umpire is going to give a play that close at the plate to the runner.

And then Ortiz follows up by launching one out. 2-0 Boston, but it should have been three.

Wow, brutal, brutal outing for Brown. He loads the bases in the second inning, and is pulled by Torre. That was the last thing the Yankees needed. Still, no damage done yet. Sox really need to drive in a couple here.

Damon with a Slam!!! 6-0 Boston!

Wow - Damon's done very little this series and then comes up huge! Yankees have a big hole to dig themselves out of

Wow, I did not expect the Yankees to come out flat like this. A long way to go still, and you can never count out the Yankees, but wow. This is unbelievable.

6-0!!!!!!! If they blow it now you know the curse is real. F$#% you Bambino!

Didn't one of the announcers say Damon could erase all the fans' thoughts of his poor performance in this series so far with a good outing tonight? Tough start with the out at the plate (I blame the third base coach, ex-Cannon Dale Sveum, for that bonehead move) but I think the grand slam may make people forget about that. Lets see if the Sox pitchers can stave off the curse for 7 more innings.....

Well, seeing as how Damon has two homers and six RBIs and we're only in the fourth inning, I can see pagan shrines being erected in his honour in Boston at this very moment. :)

I thought it's playoff beards, not playoff 5 o'clock shadows

...and they're for hockey, not baseball

? And lose the Passion look? No way.

Actually Damon is like 6 for his last 13 in this series. He's come alive since getting that hit in the ninth in game 5. He's still not running the bases particulary well, but if he keeps hitting the ball out of the park he doesn't have to worry about that!!! Go Sox! I want a Red Sox vs. Cardinals series and I want Bob Gibson throwing the first pitch past Ted Williams!

Matsui with a lead-off double

This is making me nervous

albertGQ

Why would they bring Pedro in to pump up the Yankee fans???

albertGQ
10-20-2004, 09:03 PM
I would've put Timlin in

Pedro and his ego (he HAD to ask to be put in....with such a large lead to try and rub it in).

He's getting lit up right now. Good.

WHY WOULD THEY PUT PEDRO IN!?!!?!?

I DON'T GET IT!!!

albertGQ

Yanks get one hit in the first six innings

So far, Yanks have three hits in one third of an inning

Did anyone else think it's a littel inappropriate for them to be showering them with champagne after this? Yea, celebrate a bit, but save the big celebrations with champagne for the big one...yes?

Yeah. I would agree. Although its not unusual. Seems to me most teams celebrate an AL or NL pennant in that fashion. One of the strange things about baseball.

I think if you are the red sox and their fans they will celebrate this more than if they win the world series. Being down 3-0 to the yankees and beating them in 7 to break the curse cant be beat IMO.

Baseball tradition. They celebrate all division titles, LDS, LCS and World Series victories like this because each is so damn hard to accomplish.

The Boston Red Sox won a league championship tonight. The celebration is appropriate.

Oilboy - The curse is to not win the world series. Boston needs to win it all to break the curse.

I agree. The curse is not broken until the win the World Series. If it just takes a World Series appearance to break the curse, then the BoSox would've broken the curse half a dozen times now

I'm just happy the sox won!!! To see the yanks go down like that is a dream come true. To me this world series is for the Bo Sox to lose. It's there's they have such a momentum going for them right now. Then again I said the same for Calgary in the Stanley Cup.
