In my limited experience with these things, the USB wireless adapter drop the connection more often than the a wireless card...ofcourse, this is anecdotal evidence based on my PC, setup, etc...

Get the big card with the two antenna's...bound to pick up the signal better. As for speed, anything is way faster than your Internet connection so it doesn't matter really.

well just to let you know, i will now be using wireless as my permanent way of
accessing the internet becuase my computer can reach a lan connection, so would the USB Adapter be just as good as a card for your comp?

In my experience, the USB devices work better, remember that at the back of a comptuer there is alot of interference for the wirless ignal to contend to, also dont be fooled by the antennas, they are doing very little.

The only problem with the USB is power options (if it goes into hibernation USB devices are powered down to save power - pain in the a$$ if you are in the middle of a download. Also you have to watch where you plug it in to make sure there isnt a chance of you rubbing up against it, will damage the USB port and the device.

USB wireless adapters generally have less range but their bonus is their portability.

There are larger USB adapters out there as well tha might have better range, ones with a USB cable so you can extend it somewhere.

Personally, I didn't have any extra expansion slots on my computer so I got a USB wireless adapter and stuck it inside my case (I wired up a cable I cut up to a USB header). The case makes reception kinda bad but I like how it's inside and a portable package.

Nope. Those dual antenna models do quite a lot - there are actually two separate transceivers in a model like that, which helps cut through interference, and deal with weaker signals (ie. providing better range).

For a desktop machine, I'd always go with the PCI card if you have a free slot.
