Although it doesn't say so in the above story (but does in the one below), I think I heard Ian Mansing last night saying this arrest came as a direct result of a CBC documentary investigation which brought the case back to life.

I agree. The network takes a lot of heat around these parts, rightly so in most cases, but they deserve congratulations for bringing this case back to life.

watched that last night. Unreal story, the dirtbag's family had claimed the man arrested had been dead for years. They showed a clip of the dead man's brother on the road outside the man's property, yelling at him that he was the victim's brother, mentioned the accused by name and he ran and hid inside his home.

They had a long segment about this on the radio this morning. What a story. The guy in the picture (a victim's brother) was confronting the alleged killers in person. Literally walking up to these guys and trying to talk to them. They didn't want much to do with him as you can imagine. It wasn't violent or really all that confrontational. One of the guys hid in his trailer, the other guy pretty much dismissed him but did say he was innocent.

It'd be a good one to see. It might not have been a bad idea for the CBC website to tell us when the documentary is actually going to be on TV.
