The Decline of the Romo Empire:

[Couldn't have happened to a more deserving franchise].

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/don_banks/01/07/snap.judgments/index.html

It had to end with Tony Romo being humbled by his game-deciding mistake, after seemingly having the world at his feet just a few short weeks ago. From Next Big Thing to Bill Buckner, in the span of about a month.

It was the closest thing the NFL can come to Greek tragedy, and it was a devastatingly swift turn of events for a quarterback who had the word "mania'' attached to his last name for much of the season's second half.

In a blink of an eye, that small window of time needed to catch, spin and hold a snap, Romo-mania has free-fallen into Romo-blamia.

I actually didnt mind Romo...the rest of the Cowboys really p***** me off this year though. And to think they were my favourite team when I was a kid...

I don't understand the Romo hating myself, kid from a small school elevating himself to a starting qb position on the NFL with smarts and hard work. Though I do understand the hate and subsequent backlash due to the typical Cowboy loving "hype machine" that created Romo mania in the first place.

I think, deep down inside, most people really don't want the "little guys" to succeed. That way they can continue to pump gas and not feel like they've missed out on something better.

Mind you, this particular case is most certainly helped along by a general, wide-spread hatred of all things blue and silver. :p
