anyone watching this game tonight? Its going to be an awesome game, Your predictions for the game....I say Atlanta is going to win it in 10 innings since they have the home advantage and more experience then Houston does as we saw from yesterday Houston couldnt win with a 3 point lead

Houston in a blowout 7-2.

I'd love to see Atlanta win, simply because nobody thought they could, and nobody wanted them to. However, I would appreciate the humour if Atlanta did lose this one. I just hope for a good game, being the only sudden-death game of the 1st round I'll be sure to sit down and watch it.

Well, even if the Braves win tonight, they will still get ridiculously slaughtered by St. Louis.

That said, even if I didnt love watching the Braves choke every year, I dont think there is anyway a Flames fan could not cheer for the Astros in this one. They've been to the playoffs seven times previously, and never won a playoff round. If you thought our drought was long, try going four decades without a playoff series win.

Also, Ken Caminitti was a popular member of the Astros that played with many of the players still on their roster. They might be out to win this one for Cammy as well.

With Roy Oswalt on the mound, I would not bet againt the Astros today.

Plus the atmosphere in Houston really parallels the atmosphere in Calgary during our playoff run. Just watching the two games yesterday it sounded like there was 1000 people at Dodger Stadium.

3-0 'stros.

Tons of time left but so far Houston looks good.

The Astros are looking good, but they need their bullpen to show up tonight. Oswalt is already over 60 pitches, and there is no way any reasonable manager would take him much past 110 on three days rest.

Oswalt falling apart in the 5th, and he is at 100 pitches.

Now a 3-2 lead, and the bullpen likely will have to go four full innings.

Starting to look like another of baseball's worms is about to slip the hook. :(

Woah-oo-aooo
woah-ooo-aooo

my attempt at the tomahawk chop chant. I will forever hate that chant, reminds me of the 92 series with the Jays.

I dunno. Robbie Alomar doing the Tomohawk chop as he rounded the bases after taking Eckersley deep in the ALCS was one of the most enduring images from the 92 championship season.

Well, the Astros are not teeing off on the Braves, 8-2 in the 7th.

Unfortunately, it is Calgary-native Chris Reitsma whom they are launching.

Now the Astros are just kicking the Braves in the balls... 12-3 in the 8th.

How sad for Atlanta... :woot:

Well, congrats to the Astros on winning this series. Their reward? They get to go out in five in the NLCS.

I'm not so sure. In fact I'm predicting the 'Stros in 6.

I'm gonna take the Cards in 6. Such a powerful lineup they have, its gonna tear the Stros pen apart.

Houston has no pitching. Both Clemens and Oswalt are burned, and wont start until games three and four. The Stros starter for the first game will be Backe, who has all of 11 carreer starts. They have no idea who their game two starter will be.

And then, there is the bullpen. The Cards are going to eat Houston's pitching alive. I give the Stros one game because I figure one of Oswalt or Clemens will pull off a solid game, but the NLCS should be no contest.

Also, Rafael Frucal now has to report to jail tomorrow morning to serve his jail sentence for DUI.
