I just opened an account with vipsports.com this weekend, and am quite happy so far. Am up 5 units, as long as Arizona can hold off San Fran.

Got tired of losing at Sport Select, and wanted something a little different. Once I got past the initial apprehension about opening a wagering account, I decided to jump in and give it a shot. It's so much different betting on just one team or one outcome, and the amount of money you wager on each game is obviously higher, so that's an adjustment. And the teasers and parlays can make things interesting.

But hey, I'm up over $125 US today (my teaser paid 8 to 5 instead of the standard 10 to 11), so things are rosy. And I got a 20% sign up bonus, and a free $20 MNF bet (put it on the Packers).

Anyone have any stories for me about betting with a sportsbook? Advice? Words of caution?

That's great news Ro. Of course I lost AGAIN on Sports Select cuz the stupid Jets can't beat the crappy Bills by a touchdown.
Am gonna look into new places to go for betting, so all advice put into this thread will indeed help.

I tried betting on sports a couple of years ago on a site called thegreek.com. I ended up losing like $250 mostly because I was impatient with maintaining a break even account and bet huge on New Jersey to beat Carolina in game 5 at home in the 2001 playoffs. Of course Carolina did the unthinkable and beat Jersey that night costing me $200. It all but cured my urges to gamble and I've only bet a couple of times since. Judging by how my NFL picks went this week I'd be wise to continue my restraint from the bookies.

Try sportsinteraction.com.

I've been on and off there over the last few years. Plus, its Canadian...kinda.
