He started the game thread for today's game on a Red Sox fan message board:

Maybe we needed Iginla to start the Game 6 thread, and all would have been good!

Schilling has always been ultra-cool to the message board set. He's often there after games talking to the fans. Having him on the Red Sox almost makes it hard for me to cheer against them.

The problem with Schilling is he went to the wrong team if he wanted to win. If he had gone to the Yankees I doubt that they would lose this year but with the Red Sox they are at best the third best team in the play-offs and in my opinion a ways back of St. Louis and NY and quite possibly below the Astros, Angels and Twins when it comes down to it.

he already won his World Series ring with Arizona, I think his reasoning for going to Boston was to try to break the curse.

I remember seeing somewhere that he's an Everquest nut too.

well he said hi main reason for signing with a team was to win one last ring. I think that when it came down to the NY versus BOS decision he was convinces by those telling him it would be cooler or more memorable to win with the Boston Red Sox. However, with this team I still don't think that he will be able to break the curse so it was the wrong decision anyways.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense as he was traded from D-backs to the red sox. His only choice was to accept the trade or not.

Well Arizona would have traded him to either the Yankess or to the Red Sox based on which he he would accept a deal to go to. It was basically as though he were free to choose which one he went to.

Curt Schilling is also keeping up the SOSH tradition of starting every game thread until they lose a game.
