Minnesota vs New York Yankees - Twins in 4 - Yankees don't have the pitching.

Boston vs Anaheim - Red Sox in 5

Houston vs Atlanta - Astros - continue their hot streak right past the Braves in a sweep.

Los Angeles vs St Louis - Dodgers in 5 in the upset of the first round. Cardinals have not played enough meaningful ball in the regular season. Winning their division in a walk will ultimately hurt them in the playoffs.

Minnesota vs New York Yankees - Yanks in 4

Boston vs Anaheim - Sox in 5

Houston vs Atlanta - Braves in 5

Los Angeles vs St Louis - Dodgers in 5

Does anyone know why the NL matchups are the way they are? Why is the number 1 seed, STL, playing the number 3 seed, LA? Shouldnt St. Louis be playing the team with the worst record, the Astros? Or is it because they are in the same division that they dont play each other?

Teams in the same division cannot face each other in the first round.

I only follow baseball during the playoffs, so I'm pulling these picks out of where the sun doesn't shine. I'm confident in them though!!!

I'm going to be the best stock broker ever! ;)

Minnesota vs New York Yankees in 5 games (Santana >Yankees)

Boston vs Anaheim in 4 (going to be the closest games IMO, that is a true pitching matchup Pedro, Shilling and Lowe, Wake or Arroyo vs. Colon, Washburn, Escobar

Houston vs Atlanta in 4 Ortiz, Atlanta's ace give up too many walks and Houston has some very good bats.

Los Angeles vs St Louis in 4 Bad Pitching(besides Gagne) vs. Godly Hitting.

Minnesota vs Yankees in 4. As much as I hate the Yanks, they own the Twinkies and this might be a sweep, but I'll give the Twins one game just because.

Boston vs Anaheim in 5. Should be the best series of the first round, could go either way but i'll give the edge to the Sox.

Houston vs Atlanta in 4. Houston on fire and the Braves aint about to cool them down.

Los Angeles vs St. Louis in 4. St Loo makes it an all Central NL championship vs. Houston.

Minny, Boston, Atlanta and St. Louis advance.

A rematch of the 1996 NLCS which was an absolute classic. I remember game seven of that series was not televised for some reason so I had to listen to it on the radio. My Bravos had come back to tie the series up after being down 3-1 and went on to the World Series where they won the first two games in blowouts and had a big lead in the third but blew it. Joe Girardi killed us that series. Good and bad memories that playoff year for sure.

I wish the Braves were playing LA. It seems like they play them every year in the NLDS and they've never lost.

Yankees in 4 - Santana will win one for the Twins

Angels in 5 - What's another year, eh Red Sox fan?

Cardinals in 3 - LA doesn't have nearly the starting pitching needed. Maybe LA can win one

Astros in 4 - they're on a big time roll

Minnesotavs New York Yankees
Santana will win a game or two for the Twins, but the Yankees have too much

Boston vs Anaheim
Boston just has to find another way to lose to the Yankees in October

Houston vs Atlanta
Red Hot Stros have been unstobable at home and have good enough pitching to pull of the upset

Los Angeles vs St Louis
It might take the Cards a couple games to play some serious baseball as they've all but clinched since July. Still they have the best lineup in the NL and should be able to roll over the Dodgers.

So much for me being a hardcore Braves fan any more. I can't even remember the facts from when I actually was a hardcore Braves fan.

Wow. I am so out to lunch on baseball. I used to know everything about the sport.

Oh well.
