...but probably not. If he passes some people will no doubt say that he's just using some new steroid that the tests can't detect. However, I for one hope this helps bring some credibility to his records.

I like Barry and such I do not know if he is juicing or not.. that being said these tests prove very little.

Example the steriod that Ben Johnson used washes clean from the system in 2 weeks.

He could also be using some undetectable steriod... Who knows, but I think the tests prove very very little.

I guarantee Bonds was or is on roids. He was always a phenomenal hitter but when he hit the juice and noticeably bulked up he got the strength to hit deeper and hit for power more often.

The whole BALCO thing is definitely incriminating. But you can put on 30 lbs by weightlifting alone, n/p.

It is a random test, so that gives it some credibility. However, I don't have a lot of faith in MLB, as it is not in their best interest to expose their superstar drug users.

The results aren't made public unless a player tests positive twice. A first positive test results in treatment, while a second positive result would lead to a fine or suspension, and the player's name would be made public.

Yeah, so even if he tests positive, nobody will know. It's such a weak, weak steroid policy the MLB puts in place. What sort of 'treatment' does a steroid-user need? They treat it like a recreational drug abuse case.

This sort of testing won't count for anything until MLB introduces random out-of-competition tests, so that these guys are checked on during their offseasons, and announces the results of all tests, not just repeat offenders.

Here's an image of Barry when he was with the Pirates:

The guy has considerably bulked up over the past decade. You may choose to believe it's "natural" growth. But if it barks like a dog, it's probably a steroid.

Bonds former friend and team-mate Gary Sheffield skewers Bonds in a new SI article:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/maga...1011/index.html (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/magazine/10/04/sheffield_bonds1011/index.html)

Sheffield was introduced to BALCO by someone he now describes as a former friend: Barry Bonds. Sheffield says he has no knowledge of what, if any, enhancers Bonds may have used, but he did provide SI with a harsh firsthand look at the inner circle of Bonds's trainers. (Bonds, through a spokesperson, declined to address Sheffield's comments, saying only, "I wish nothing but the best for Gary. I want him to win the MVP. He deserves it.")

Sheffield says. "To me, I don't want friends like that. I never will have friends like that."

They're testing people and no one is hitting more than 50 homers this year?

What a coincidence.

I'm sure Barry Bonds is quite ready to be tested . . . . now.

If you are suggesting that Bonds ability to hit a homer has somehow declined, I'd say you are mostly wrong. Although he was not able to hit at the same impossible pace he set in 2001, he would have hit 58 homers had he had the same amount of ABs. In fact if he got dealt as many ABs as Ichiro, he would have hit 84 at his this year's HR/AB rate.

Sheffield is a punk though. I don't even really know what he was saying in that article. His admission of guilt for the cream is kind of weird, and was probably done to deflect some attention from the real issues. And he seems pretty p*ssed that bonds stole his chef! He is sounding like Kobe Bryant here a bit. Get in some trouble and deflect the attention to someone else. Not a very good character attribute, if you ask me.

Sheffeild never got in trouble. He admitted to using this cream on his own accord. Also I don't think he is sounding like a punk at all. He is addressing an issue that is a hot topic in baseball right now and especially concerning Bary Bonds. He said that he did not know if Barry was using and nowhere did he imply it. Had he done something like that without proof I would agree it was a punk move.
