ALREADY MISS YOUR HOCKEY? TUNE INTO SHAW TV

Shaw Cablesystems and WHL sign three-year deal to bring live games to viewers

across Western Canada

CALGARY, AB (September 23, 2004) - Shaw Cablesystems today announced a three-year deal with the Western Hockey League that will offer 55 WHL games only on Shaw TV this season throughout Western Canada.

"This builds on a very successful partnership with the WHL. As we deliver live hockey action to our customers and hockey fans across Western Canada, this will be even more important this season," said Peter Bissonnette, President of Shaw Communications. "The brand of exciting, fast-paced hockey that the WHL serves up makes for fantastic viewing and it's a great addition to the Shaw TV lineup."

"Shaw is a phenomenal partner for the WHL and we're extremely excited to be able to expand television coverage this season," said Ron Robinson, Commissioner of the Western Hockey League. "These broadcasts will allow hockey fans in each province to follow division rivalries like never before."

The WHL games on Shaw TV will be broadcast primarily on a province-wide basis and feature games between the Canadian-based B.C., Central and East Division teams. The kick-off for the new season on Shaw TV features the defending Memorial Cup champion Kelowna Rockets hosting the Kootenay Ice on Wednesday, September 29.

Full game schedules and broadcast times can be found at whl.ca.

Unfortunately, only about 12 of those games will be available in Alberta? Why wouldn't they show them in all provinces? It's not like there's anything better on the Shaw channel when there's a Kelowna-Kamloops game on.

You might miss out on a scintillating report by John Henderson on a junior-high dodge ball team, or an insightful movie review by Lonsborough.
