Researchers in Britain say adulthood used to start at 18 but now most males don't show the conventional signs of maturity until they're closer to 30.
Research in Britain and America found that less than a third of 30-year-olds pass three tests of adulthood — having completed their schooling, left home and become financially independent. If a fourth test — marriage and parenthood — is added, the figure falls further.
