Rumor has it that Manny Fernandez is about to become a member of the Florida Panthers. Heading to the Penguins are prospects Alex Auld and Tom Preissing.

"It is great having a Fernandez join our organization" said Florida GM Dave Penney. "This gives us a solid backup for for Martin Biron."

"We are going to work hard with Manny to get him ready to play this year. Biron is our #1 for now but anything can happen to change that, and fernandez realizes that" said Penney.

In 79 games last season, Fernandez posted a 3.64 GAA and a .874 save percentage.

Latest reports out of the Igloo have veteran goaler Manny Fernandez headed to the sunshine state in return for promising youngsters Tom Preissing and Alex Auld.

GM Jasino stated, "This deal helps both squads as Fla needed an experienced back up, and the Pens needed some more offensive pop from the rear guards, and add yet another young goalie to their already impressive stable of Michaud and Tellqvist."

Later, after the interview was over, Jasino was heard screaming at the training staff to fumigate the smell of old from Manny's old locker. He was stumbling and holding a half empty glass of Gin and Tonic at the time.

The Pens are ready for the waiver draft and have a few more moves to make....
