Sounds like he had a fantastic day. Good to see, he hasn't been solid most of the season.

Leading by two strokes about halfway through day 3. Paired with Vijay today. Weir should be able to expand his lead on the 11th as he is safely on the fairway while Vijay sailed way off the left.

Anybody watching the fourth day of Golf....

Weir is leading by two, kind of looks like Singh is coming strong.

Some of the best golf I have seen in a while...

What a shot from Weirsy to the 18th green in the playoff....WOW

edit--by best golf I mean most competitive, it is kind of sloppy

Talk about choke central.

Brutal.

Terrible drive on the third playoff hole. Looks like this is it.

After that drive on the 18th, Weir is in big trouble. Just can not make the shots.

Disaster! In the water. That would do it.

Too bad. Would have been great to see Weir pull this out but he had his chances and just couldn't finish Vijay off.

Great that we have a Canadian golfer (actually two with Ames) with the talent of Weir though.

Good for Weir though, he hasn't had a great year but he managed to show up for the Open....

In this case, yes. Weir had multiple opportunities to close the tourney out and couldn't. However, in general I would not call him a "Choker". Perhaps the pressure of being on home soil and trying to end a 50 year drought got to him.

Meanwhile Vijay is just cool as a cucumber.

because lots of chokers win the Masters.....

He had a bad day. Big deal. It's like the "choker" tag that Greg Norman carries around. Wish I could be a "failure" like him. Mom and Dad were at a golf tourney in Florida a couple of years back. Norman landed in his own shark shaped helicopter. Yep, a real loser....

It's well after the fact, but am I the only Canadian that didn't give a sh** about the Canadian Open?

The Toronto media flogs this stop like the 5th frikkin' major, when in reality it's become a mediocre stop on the tour.

So what if a Canadian hasn't won the Canadian Open in 50 years? I doubt a Canadian has won the Scratch-my-ass open longer than that. There just aren't a lot of Canadian golfers compared to the rest of the field.

The Canadian Open has become as sad as the pre-US Open tennis stops in Canada that TSN and Sportsnet also flog as the 5th Grand Slam event. It's a lot of hype with little substance.

Ok, I feel better now.

IIRC he only won the Masters because the guy he was up against choked worse than him. There never should have been a playoff that year.
