Lol, that is so pathetic.

Not so sure it’s that egregious a call.

It looks very much like a pic play that’s set for using on the PP. Mantha cruising out of the corner untouched and unrushed and into the slot, ignoring interest in getting the puck for himself and timing it exactly for when the puck goes down from the point to the guy on the half boards, which coincidently cuts off the defender that would go over there?

Refs may well have been alerted by teams that the Wings or other teams have this play, it’s very subtle and looks like coincidental interference, when it’s really planned interference, which makes it tough to call.

Yeah there is no conspiracy against the Flames. NHL reffing in general is pathetic.

The Stars lack of offense continues! They are losing 4-0 late in the second period. They are getting dragged down to the wild card spots.

The Predators went on a four goal outburst in the second period and went on to win 4-2.

Ladd scores on a deflection 96 seconds into the game, 1-0 Islanders.

The Canucks counter quickly with a pair of goals, 2-1 Vancouver.

I hope Dallas falls right out of the playoff race.

Yeah Dallas on the verge of 6 straight losses and can't score. Remind me a touch of the 05-06 Flames who won the Jennings but were held back by their inability to score.

MacEwen scored early in the second period, 3-2 Canucks.

I know it is a meaningless game, but, the Ducks are up 4-0. Miller is in net again. I think that is three consecutive starts for him.

Could really use an islanders response here.

The Flyers winning streak is over. The Bruins defeated them 2-0. It is a big win for them because the stinkin' Leafs beat the Lightning 2-1 in regulation time.

Let me guess, Isles will lose their 7th in a row and break their losing streak against the Flames.

I hate playing teams on long losing streaks because I always feel they are due to win eventually

I'll always remember the Islanders fondly for their battles with the Oilers.
Love those threads, too

Just a crazy game - scoring chance after scoring chance at both ends

What is it with the Canucks and Oilers this year giving up a ton of shots yet stealing points on a regular basis? Bloody irritating.

Isles pass it back on a break away in OT...WTF

Canucks give up 49 shots to the Islanders

Gaskal
03-10-2020, 10:45 PM
Isles there just collectively seemed to go "Ah whatevs, it's the shootout", quit playing, then the Canucks get two golden opportunities before the buzzer sounds.

Back to the AHL with that shot Ladd...oh well

Canucks give up 49 shots to the worst offensive team in the NHL and sneak out a SO win

50 shots against Canucks and Oilers, slurping up points somehow.

Canucks have 2 wins in 7 games...it hasn't been very successful for them without Markstrom

JT Miller what a pick up for Vancouver. tofolli as well seems to have been a good trade deadline deal. Wish Vancouver would just go away

Vancouver is 3-6-1 in their last 10...tied for worst in the west over that stretch

djsFlames

Yeah Miller is a damn good player.

You still hope they crash and burn. Have to continue to outscore their goaltending every night which isn't easy with a rookie.

on positive side, the Canucks need to go on a run if there is any chance for the Oilers to miss the playoffs. That can still happen right?

Yes i know the stats, comment was in relation to the playoff standings. Only way we are not in a playoff is because Vancouver takes over 3rd in pacific as i don’t think we will make wild card due to point totals so i just want them to die a slow death and go away . Just sayin

Still a chance that could happen over the next few weeks. 5 of next 7 on the road where they have been struggling (haven't won in regulation on the road since Jan 29 against a poopy Sharks team).

Typically you'd expect to win when putting up 4 goals and 50 shots on a team, but the Islanders also had some seriously bad moments on defence tonight.

Flames win 7 games and they are in, if they can't do that they probably don't deserve it anyway

don't sweat the Canucks

Yeah, regardless of what anybody in the race does, 7 wins likely qualifies you no matter what. Just get it done boys.

Dallas has lost six straight. I think it's entirely possible the Flames catch them soon for the #5 spot in the West.

On radio today someone mentioned last week of march at the earliest

But then again, until last weekend no one thought boeser was anywhere close

I wouldnt be surprised to see Nashville steal their #3 spot in the division by seasons end.

I’d worry more about Calgary hanging onto a playoff spot.

Based on winning percentage, Calgary is in the last wild card spot, and with two teams basically a point behind (when factoring in games in hand). Remember that Calgary loses the tiebreaker to everyone.

If Dallas plays even .500 from here on out ( and only 3 teams in the West plays less than that), Calgary needs to go 8-3-1 to catch them). Only Boston in the NHL is playing at that pace this year.

Agreed. If the Flames lose against the Islanders it's likely they will be 9th after the evening is done. 5th in the conference is pie in the sky fantasy at this stage as they have better odds of missing the playoffs.
