We have signed free agent defenseman Zach Bogosian to a one-year, $1.3 million contract.

Makes sense. They have quite a few injuries on the back end.

Wow. Good for him I guess. Despite being released, he goes from the Sabres to an elite contender.

Good for Bogo. I bet he's looking at Shattenkirk's situation and saying, "ok, my turn."

I thought most of their injuries on D were coming back? Think he would have chosen a team that he could get minutes with for rest of season. When they are halthy he is back to press box.

But he sucked in Buffalo! Why would anyone want to sign him?!

Amirite?

"Maybe we should sign him"

"No way. He's terrible he couldn't even play in Buffalo. No competing team would want him"

Bogosian signs with Tampa

"Good pick up, they can use him"

One year, $1.3 million per the team. Pretty sure that's roughly as much money as Bogosian forfeited by terminating his deal with Buffalo.

He may have preferred staying east for the rest of the season.

But they only pay the pro rated amount. Whereas there was the $1M left to go on the Buffalo contract.

East, the US and on a legit contender.

Pretty much about everything he would likely want.

Zach Bogosian will earn approximately $293k to finish out the season with #bolts. Contract termination w #sabres will cost him approximately $600,000 in cash.

#bolts now have three of the top five picks from 2008 Draft in their lineup: Stamkos (1), Bogosian (3), Schenn (5).

Are we just sitting with our thumbs up our asses?

What are we doing?

We need depth, this was free depth.

You think Treliving didnt call his agent? Of course he did.

Not a chance in hell Bogosian picks the Flames over the Bolts. C'mon dude.

Maybe the Flames did offer him a deal and he wanted to stay in the US or east for whatever reason.

He should be able to make up for that lost cash and more if Tampa has any kind of playoff run.

He'll be able to mug guys without calls in the playoffs and really up his value.

Not sure I understand the math considering he had a $6M salary with no signing bonuses this season. Whatever the actual cash is, one would think he should be getting less than a quarter of the cash [compared to previous deal]? I'm sure it's more complicated somehow...

Lol fair.

I suppose I failed to factor in free will.

The lack of moves is just irksome.

Sigh....for a team to be able to sign a player, the player has to want to sign with the team.
