Just starting now. Hopefully the RedBlacks can upset. Unfortunately Edmonton will likely run away with it.

Absolutely! Have always loved the Grey Cup. Edmonton looked very good against Calgary, but I'm hoping for the RedBlacks Cinderella story to keep going for one more game. Chris Jones is a donkey and hope he never wins anything.

That's some pretty good coverage for down south. I wonder if they are sending their reporter to compare the Grey Cup to the Super Bowl which I think SF is hosting this year. Not sure why they took a couple of shots at Calgary. Must be because he was getting is info from the Spirit of Edmonton guys.

His performance today is exactly what he has done in entire career when the chips are down. It would appear Matt Dunigan episode agree given his half time assessment.

I just find it funny that a guy that was a playoff disappointment feels the need to tell people what intensity level they have to bring.

I didn't realize we couldn't talk about the current game performance of one of the Grey Cup participants and how it's draws a parallel to his historical performances in the playoffs because some Burris/Ottawa fan boy doesn't like it. I've brought it up twice in two different context

Have some respect for the current League MVP? Give me a break. This is a thread to discuss the Grey Cup.

How full are the stands?

100% full. I looked a couple days ago and there looked to be a couple hundred seats available in the lower corners, and now it looks like they all sold, or they gave them to those military members in attendance.

Either way, this looks to be a very successful grey cup, especially considering the two teams involved have very small, virtually non-existent travelling fan bases.

In fact besides Saskatchewan and Calgary, are there any other well travelled fan bases? I'm a little ignorant to the east but CFL doesn't seem like a big deal out there.

I've been to a few. Saskatchewan lead the pack in recent times when it comes to fan bases traveling. Calgary/Edmonton are well represented as well. Also some Argo/Ti-Cat fans (when the game is East, they are a lot more for obvious reasons). BC and Montreal don't appear to travel well at all. Montreal especially. I've only been to one Grey Cup since Ottawa came into the league, so I can't really comment on them.

TheAlpineOracle

One weird thing about Calgary at the Grey Cup, is that their fans travel well, but the team does next to nothing for events. They had a last minute event last year at some garbage Country bar in Vancouver far away from every other event. We went for 5 minutes and left and went back to the Atlantic Schooners party.

What an odd non challenge for the Esks, there. We're in this new age of CFL where fans are actually complaining because every play is reviewed to death and coaches challenge everything that's even close.

Then you have a pretty much clear drop in a 2 point game with 5 mins left in the grey cup and they pass? Seems odd.

One thing that I really, really wish would change in terms of Grey Cup traditions is for the fans to respect the Grey Cup presentation. I understand a small contingent of losing team fans leaving at the buzzer.

But I've always found it really disrespectful how the home city fans get caught up in all the celebration all week, then the biggest moment comes with the presentation of the Grey Cup and 90% of the fans rush for the exits before the presentation. Like C'mon.

I was wondering the same thing. I assumed you had to have a time out remaining in order to challenge.

From the CFL rule book

Article 6 – Instant Replay Review
An Instant Replay Review request, challenging the ruling on the field, may only be initiated by the Head Coach, who will throw a challenge flag onto the field, prior to the legal snap of the ball.
Each team will have the ability to execute two (2) challenges per game, if a team is successful on both, they will gain the opportunity to execute a third challenge.
The first challenge will have no impact on team time outs, regardless of the outcome of the challenge.
A second challenge, if unsuccessful, will result in the loss of a team time out, either first or second half.
In order to execute a second challenge, a team must have a team time out remaining.
In order to execute a third challenge, a team must have been successful on both their first two (2) challenges and must have a team time out remaining.
A third challenge, if unsuccessful, will result in the loss of a team time out, either first or second half.

Did Edmonton not have a challenge earlier in the game? If so, by taking the time out, he would not have had a team time out remaining and thus not been able to execute the second challenge. I must be missing something, because there's no way the CFL would miss something like that. Or is there?

Edmonton was the class of the league this year. Next year I really hope the QBs stay healthy. This league needs Durant, Collaros, Lulay, Willy, etc healthy as it is so dependent on the quarterback position.
