First off, I'm a massive Bouma fan as evidenced by the absurd length of this video... But I'll be damned if he isn't a stud.

I started this video thinking Bouma's new contract was a little overpaid, but now think he's worth every penny. What a warrior, even if he can't recreate his offensive production from this last season. Even after shattering his hand blocking a shot he returns in the playoffs and takes yet another massive slapshot in a dangerous position.

I let the audio play out following his injury causing shotblock as the crowd gave him a huge ovation, and bled the audio from his playoff return in as the crowd was chanting his name so loudly. Loved it!

My planned order for the next videos: Backlund, Rookies, Colborne, etc.

Videos done so far this summer:
- Comeback Wins (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwCWSQMhHQk)

AC did you decide if you are going to lump Bennett into the rookies video or have a separate one for him?

Wow, Bouma seemed to take quite a few shots off his left palm last year. Is that the same hand that he broke?

Yeah I'll split Bennett into his own.

Man, those dangles on Seidenberg and Klingberg, and some of those snipes... those are skilled plays.

I still believe that a great deal of the Flames culture is a result of this man. There are plenty of leaders on this team who set the pace, but many of them were here before we felt the effort change. It was often Lance leading the way in committing to this team, and I truly believe that the team followed suit.

All of the words we use to describe the Flames and distinguish them from the rest of the league are the exact same words I'd use to describe this guy.

Someone on YouTube suggested I add the player's stats to the video description.

2014-2015 Stats:
In 78 games: 16 goals + 18 assists = 34 points, 264 hits, and 82 blocks.

264 hits sounds about right, but I can't believe he only registered 82 blocks. Just over 1 per game?! Ridiculous.

I feel like those blocking stats should be closer to 2 per game. .

2014-2015 Stats:
In 78 games: 16 goals + 18 assists

16 Even-strength Goals + 16 Even-strength Assists for 32 ES points. Think for a second that had a guy like Camalleri played 78 games, he was on pace to score 19 goals / 16 assists at even strength to really get a sense for how productive Bouma really was last year when he was on the ice. He wasn't out there on power plays but still managed to consistently get on the stat sheet.

264 hits sounds about right, but I can't believe he only registered 82 blocks. Just over 1 per game?! Ridiculous.

Like Russell said, it's not how many blocks, it's the fact that Bouma's taking full-speed slappers from the point head-on that makes what he does so awesome.

between having bouma on the second line and ferland on the third, there will be no free rides against the flames this season.

gonna be some great games in the "battle" of alberta :pop:

Bouma sets the tone for this team through his shifts which is why he's so important. Love this guy!

agreed. I'm not sure why he doesn't rotate his wrist/hand the other way and at least use the padding from the glove. It's only gotta be marginally less effective, but likely much safer. What do I know though, I'm not likely to put myself in front of 100mph slap shots even in full goalie gear :D

Booms is channeling some inner Johnny on some of those moves.. Love that the 3rd and 4th liners are trying some creative things sometimes.
