View Full Version : Who Will win the Hart?

It's August.

I feel bad for being bored during the summer, but I am so damn excited for hockey. It can't come soon enough. Darn you NHL and your Jedi mind tricks!

So, another conversation thread - who will win the Hart? Why do you think your player will win?

I voted Ovi. If I were him, I would feel snubbed for the Hart last year. In a year when the Art Ross winner had 87 points or whatever it was, his 53 goals wasn't enough for the Hart which was a mistake by the writers in my opinion. In an era when the 50 goal man is a rarity, he should have won it. Heck of a regular season, and a more complete player than he was in past years.

Let the Thunderdome commence.

PS: Added McSavior to see who on CP is getting brainwashed by the media.

I think Crosby will have a massive year with Kessel on his wing. Have to go with him.

I think Giordano will have a massive year with Hamilton on his side. Have to go with him.

Again with your Ovechkin/Price tangent. Let it go already.

Voted Crosby

Crosby had arguably the worst season of his career last year at 27(?) and still led the league in points per game average, so he is nowhere near done and very likely in my mind for a huge bounce back season. If him and Kessel have any kind of chemistry together he'll likely win the point race by 20+ points clear.

I actually appreciate that you remembered the old Hart thread :D

Jarome?

Feel free to vote other, and give your reasoning.

I would not be upset if Jarome pulled off another 96 point season and took the Hart. He is my favorite player.

I voted for Price. The best goaltender on this planet.

I voted for Crosby. Logic says with Kessel on his wing, he should pile up the points.

John Tavares.

I'll bite. Voted Crosby, he will have a big year.
Tavares and Getzlaf are some strong candidates not listed.

I do think a Calgary Flame could get top 10 in voting. 3 or 4 possibilities on the team.

I voted Ovi for the Hart, but I think Seguin will win the Art Ross.

On an Oilers forum somewhere you know deep inside that McJesus wins that poll.

Hm, I'll rephrase that - on every Oilers forum.

Seguin is looking good, Tarasenko as well, apart from the usual suspects. What if Panthers reach the PO's - Jagr?

I'm guessing McJesus. He's got the hype machine and let's face it, if he manages to pull that team to a semblence of respectability, he deserves it.

Crosby. I think last year was an off year for him. Was expecting a bounce back year before the Kessel deal. That should probably help even more.

It sounds from this that you believe this is actually a possibility. My money is still on the Oilers' inability to become a semblance of respectability. At best, McDavid gets them out of the bottom five.

OP should have made it so the votes were public so we could make fun of the posters that voted for McDavid.

I think Gio is going to have an amazing year and will compete for the Hart and Norris. After the disappointing injury last season, I can't imagine he comes back less than 100%. He will be on a mission.

I think the addition of Hamilton will actually hurt Gio's chances at the Norris and Hart. He won't be counted on as much for every situation and the ice time/scoring will be spread out a little more. I still think he'll be up there as one of the top defenders but I don't think he'll have extremely high stats. I hope I'm wrong.

I think its between Ovi/Crosby.

I think Ovi goes on a tear this year and almost hits 60. Voted Ovi.
