We are just going to agree that Roberto Alomar is the best 2nd basement in Jays history. So this is to vote for his back-up.

I think Hudson takes it, and I'm fine with that - but I went a ways back to vote for Damaso Garcia - a player who was equal parts talented and frustrating.
He also burned his uniform once - which was a bit of a dick move.

Damaso for me. Kent by far the best player (baseball) on the list.

Torn between the O-dogg and Johnny Mac but when it comes to being a true professional ballplayer, I'll have to go with Johnny Mac here. Super slick with the glove too might I add.

Aaron Hill for me.

Ended poorly but he had two season above 5 WAR for the Jays and put up decent numbers for his career. Appeared in a All-Star game too.

O-dog.

To me 2nd base is a defensive position first, and offense is secondary. Aaron Hill was mostly an offensive 2nd baseman with average defense at best. He managed the position fine, but I rarely remember a highlight reel play from him. O-dog played his heart out at 2nd base, and he hit well enough to be above the rest.

Kent would be the choice if he had played more than 60 some games for the Jays. The guy was an all-time great.

Damaso Garcia burned his uniform while in a slump, and after a particular bad game. It got a fair bit of press back then, one can only imagine that happening today.

Also, I distinctly recall the Exhibition stadium announcer calling his name to the plate in a creative way. This was when the odd game every few weeks was on CFCN after the 6pm news...so they'd go to the Jays game in progress (usually around the 4th inning) back in the mid-later 80's.

Manny Lee was also a starter at second base until we got Alomar.

That said, I go with O-Dog for his popularity alone. Still have a sliding O-Dog bobblehead in the basement.
