Good job by our crews out on the water.

Sending 10 boats out of the 11 we sent to the final races, starting tomorrow (this time tomorrow, 1am) and early Friday morning.

Anyone who has and old school "Beaver Canoe" tshirt, throw it on for good luck!

I read yesterday that Canada's canoe/kayak program was like 29th in the world in 2000, up to 18th last year, and will crack the top ten after these games. All because the Canadian team put focussed on what needed to be done.

The entire program is geared for success in Bejing, so anything it does this year is gravy.

A lesson for our other sport programs: You dont just need money. Quality coaching and a plan are necessary too.

well, lets hope we can get a couple medals out of this. Getting into the double digits sure would be a nice end to a pretty disappointing Olympics for this country.

Yeah, it was a huge suprise to me that we're doing so well in canoe and kayak events. I mean, we should be--we're freakin' Canadians after all. But it's one of those where we've always struggled.

Like Snakeye was saying, this is a program that is still a few years off--a lot of very young rowers. It would be great to see them bring in a few medals, though.

9 boats in each final. We have 4 boats in one finals (women's K1 500m IIRC).
