I used to go to Walmart for oil changes because they're cheap. But now they're all Mr. Lube and I don't feel like paying double what I used to.

Any good places in town to get an oil change at a good price? I live in the SE.

Are we talking regular oil or synthetic? I find dealerships are often cheaper than some of those lube shops for dyno oil. If you car uses synthetic then there aren't a lot of cheap options outside of buying the oil from Walmart or Crappy Tire and doing it yourself. I just did a change on my Subaru last weekend and I actually enjoy it as I get good quiet time in my garage from my two little monsters.

I do my own changes so can't really comment... But I have a toyota which uses 5w-20 or 0w-20 and I can buy synthetic oil for about $30 from the dealership. Not bad price

For deals just use those groupons .. They come up like every week and you'll only pay like $20 a change. Like the same price of doing it yourself

Yeah if you don't want to do it yourself, just watch groupon for a deal. There are new ones all the time at great prices. Last year I used groupon twice since it was cheaper than even doing it myself

I just don't have anywhere to do an oil change unfortunately. I prefer to drop it off, do my things and pick it up when I'm done.

I'll definitely check Groupon I'm sure there's some out there.

Talk to Thad Castle, he seems to be very knowledgable on the subject

Don't take it to this place. After four years the oil change still won't be complete, and your vehicle will be in worse shape than when you brought it in.

Country Hills Toyota is awesome. $30 for an express oil change (you drive straight in, wait in the lobby for 20-30 minutes, and you're out)

I was wondering if anyone had experience with The Lube Dude, the once a year oil change?

So does Universal Ford. I can't even be bothered to do my own any more.

Picking up on this, is there anywhere that will do it if you bring in your own oil and filter?

Do you have to have a Toyota or a car that was bought there to get an oil change done there?

I doubt it, it's an easy job for them, what do they care what kind of car it is?

I've done this at Minute Lube before, but they charged me $40 in labour.

I usually change my own oil, but one time I figured I'd give Country Hills Toyota a shot because I worked near there and it was cold. It was fine, price was right. Next oil change I did myself and discovered that they didn't change my oil filter. They charged me for it, but it was the same one I put on previously. My brother went there all the time, so we marked his oil filter. We found the same thing. Charged for a new oil filter but they didn't change it.

That was three years ago, and neither my brother or I have been back. My brother gets his done elsewhere, and I just do it myself.

Also wondering if anyone has any experience with these people. Sounds interesting.

I use 5w 20 oil in my 5.4l v8, 10 year old vehicle. Thinking about switching to a synthetic, any thoughts?

I wouldn't put synthetic in a 10 year old vehicle, it's better for the motor but chances are it will start leaking.

The nice thing about Mary Ann's Oil is she gets in the car with you
