Cliff Fletcher Award - Best CPHL GM Award voted on by all GMs

Gary Suter Award - An annual award "to the defenceman" who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position as voted by the general managers of all CPHL clubs.

Tim Hunter Award - Best CPHL goon award is voted on by all GMs...combo of toughness and PIM.

Sergei Priakin Award - Most underrated CPHL player voted on by all CPHL clubs.

D'arcy McGrath Award - Best Message Board poster award as voted on by all CPHL clubs.

Mike Vernon Award - an annual award given to the goalkeeper adjudged to be the best at this position as voted by the general managers of all CPHL clubs.

Lanny McDonald Award - an annual award given to the player judged to be the most valuable to his team as voted by the general managers of all CPHL clubs.

Sergei Makarov Award - an annual award given to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the CPHL as voted by the general managers of all CPHL clubs.

Darryl Sutter Award - an annual award given to the GM selected as the best 1st year GM as voted by the general managers of all CPHL clubs.

Coach Of The Year Award - an annual award given to the coach selected to be the best CPHL coach of the regular season as voted by the general managers of all CPHL clubs.

Plus we don't have the nominations yet... It appears you nominate your own player for each specific award (if applicable), and then after the noms are in everyone sends and e-mail voting for a candidate for each award that is someone else than the player they nominated.

It is a bit confusing based on how the thread first explained it (minus the deadline of course) but I have gathered this from the other individual threads on the subject. Each person nominates their best candidate BEFORE the voting begins. A list is formed by Da Chief and then you can use the list for each award to vote for a league winner.

How can you vote with no candidates?

And why are is there a separate thread for the Priakin award then? I mean I get the thread for the Sutter Award, cause there is no nominations in that one, it's just first time GM's, but why a dedicated thread for the Priakin award and no threads for the other awards?

Priakin: everyone nominates one player from his team, only these players are eligible, but you can't vote for your own players.
Sutter: the first-year GMs
every other award: there are no public nominations like for the Priakin. Every player in the league is eligible, but you can't vote for your own players.

I wish I could thank you three times Devo! Kinda weird that can't nominate our players for most the awards but have to for specific ones. That's where my confusion had lay.

Kinda seems unnecessarily complicated...

Priakin is an underrated award. Things like MacDonald award you can go to the stats page and see who did well wheres Priakin you'll have to look at all the teams and see who did well beyond expectations. Thats why theres a nominees thread for that award.

Easy to go see who the top goalie, dman, MVP, all-stars etc is not so easy for Priakin. Even for the Priakin you CANNOT vote for your own guy, this is just you helping the league out by saying "this guy did well but his rating sucks".

When its time to send in your selections, do not choose your own guy for any award.

He played 5 or 6 games last year so the sim takes away the (R) status even though he hasnt played 25 games.

Esteemed voters!

Don't forget about Cam Ward when filling out your ballots for the league MVP! Ward came onto the roster when the team was struggling early on in the season and ignited the turn around that would see the Kings leap from 10th place up to 5th while being one of the best teams (statistically) in the league over that time. The Kings ended up in 2nd place overall by goal differential after being a *negative* in that category early on in the season.

Ward was a .921 with a 2.39 GAA for the Kings.

Without Ward, the Kings would have missed the playoffs... instead we made a race out of the division title and took the Ducks to 7 games in the Conference finals.

As we saw last year, the Isles faceroll the league regardless of goaltender and the Ducks do the same with no one player standing that far above the rest.
