To Washington.

Devan Dubnyk
Justin Holl (ECHL)
4.5 M

To NJ

WSH 1st 2013
Jason Zucker.

--->. With all the question marks surrounding kipper we had to grab a goalie. Had some great discussions here and found prices really high. NJ came calling and we were able to work out a fair deal for a starter. Sucks moving the pick as I wanted to actually draft this season.

This deal also gives me about 5 M in cheese space to sell sell sell !!!

Thanks for the quick deal, as most know Dubnyk has been on the block for a while and getting hopefully top 10 pick and soon to be NHLer should help.

Now I just hope Crawford isn't a one hit wonder this year and is a starter for years to come...

I like duby but I was a little concerned to hear edm was after bishop...maybe not as confident in duby as they lead on. With that in mind, steep price tag on him.

Can see making the argument either way though.

It seems like every goalie this year in the NHL is a question mark besides maybe Rask and Fasth.

Fair point. Seems like a bit of a transition year with lots of guys emerging. Who stick and who doesn't...we'll see.

I do know this, if pat trades for them then they probably bust. Worst goalie talent evaluator in the league.

I wouldn't say that about Rask as apparently according to Bruin fans Khodobin has been the better of the two the last month or so.

I dont follow the Ruins at all...but I have a few buddies who do and they have been whining about Rask the past little while. But you know the guys I am talking about so they tend to overreact a tad.

Lies, battling with the Bruins for the division and you don't follow them? Lies I tells ya!

PS I have never EVER known the Western Star Super Star to overreact.

Lots of question marks

Ana : Fasth and Hiller. Hiller likely gone next year
Bos: Rask the number 1. Khodobian likely going elsewhere next year.
Buf: Miller not playing well and likely on his way out
Cal: hahahahahahahahahahahah
Car: Ward Hurt and questionable goaltending after that
Chi: Crawford and Emery 1a/1b. Stable, but long term solutions?
Col: Varlamov not exactly taking the reigns
CMB: Bobrovsky seems to be taking the reigns.
Dal: injury prone Lehtonen number 1
Det: Howard he number 1, but not exactly a top 10 NHL goalie
EDM: Not exactly confident in Dubnyk... Tried to get Bishop
FLA: Markstrom not exactly lighting it up. Theodore on the decline
LA: Quick not doing well this year, but long Edm solution
MIN: Backstrom yup there in age, Kuemper looks solid. Harding likely never a starter
MTL: price clear cut number 1
NSH: Rinne number 1, no question
NJ : who takes over from brodeur
NYR: Lundqvist with an off year l no real backup solution
NYi: Nabokov playing well, but who takes over ?
Ott: Anderson injury a concern, Lehner waiting in the wings
Phi: Bryzgalov plays a lot, but could be a buy out candidate
PHX: Mike smith likely elsewhere next year
Pit: MA Fleury and Vokoun solid 1/2, but questions about fleury in the playoffs
SJ: Niemi number 1, but is he a top flight goalie .
Stl: Elliot playing poorly, Halak hurt a lot, young jake Allen taking over?
TB: Lindback didn't perform, so brought in bishop. 13ft of goalie and lots of questions
Tor: Do not seem very confident on Reimer
Van: Can't move Luongo and Schnieder off and on
Was: Holtby, neiverth. No clear cut top guy
Win: Pavelec is the number 1, but not exactly elite.

Solid post Hesla. I am always a fan of goalies...it is always fun to see how rises and who falters each season.

IMO Bobrovsky is the biggest riser as he has really grabbed the reins. Kipper is the biggest fall IMO as some Flames fans saw him possibly having an off year and hanging them up but I dont see many others who thought that.

The situations in Chicago, Vancouver, and Philly are the most interesting IMO.

What happens with Luongo now that the deadline passes? How likely is he to see time.

Crawford and Emery are both playing lights out hockey. Will they try and sign Emery and ride the tandem again next year( This failed miserably for the Blues last year) or will they let Emery sign as a #1 somewhere and show some faith in Crawford.

Philly fans say Bryz is not the answer, will he be bought out. He is playing well, but costs a ton of cap. I certainly cant see them trying Mason as #1.

Blues are interesting as well as Halak is great with limited work load but cant handle being a 60+ games guy as he breaks down and is injured and streaky when he tires out. Will they hand things over to Allen?

Will be fun to see how this plays out.

Have you been following his season? Probably near the bottom of the top ten, but close either way. I'd probably say 8-12 depending on what stats are important to you and how you rate the team in front of him. Like previous Det tenders I think he gets underrated because he plays for Det.

Howard is the most underrated goalie in hockey history. I know this yet I still don't want/like him but you can't argue the fact that he is good and a legit #1!
