Another busy week, and Montreal creates a streak going a perfect 4-0. All nominees played 4 games. Some great candidates so let's get to it!

Montreal Nominates:

Player: Derick Brassard - Getting it done both offensively and defensively on the third line of all places, Derick got a talking to last week and took it to heart. 4g, 4a, 8pts +6. He also took a slight edge on the dot as third line center at 52.38%.

Defense: Niklas Kronwall - The stalwart got healthy and jumped back into action patrolling the blueline racking up 1g, 3a and going +5. Making attackers pay with 15 hits, he picked up 4SB and 2TA.

Unsung: Tim Connolly (63) - Perhaps buoyed by Brassard's performance, perhaps hearing his name was on the block, Connolly came to play this week with 3g, 2a, 5pts, and a +6.

Goaltender: Jimmy Howard - 4-0 you say? 0.935 S% you say? 1.75 GAA you say? Give him the POTW I say!

Kings didn't do so well last week

Goalie - Ward - 1-0-2 (2 shootout losses). 0.95 GAA, .965 sv%. He'd have been 3-0 easy if the team had scored a few times in front of him.

Toronto went 3-0-0 last week.

Player: C Vincent Lecavalier (70 overall) - 3 GP, 2 G + 2 A = 4 P, +1, 0 PIM, 2 GWG, 1x 2nd, 1x 3rd
Lecavalier got on the scoreboard in every game last week, and both of his goals were game-winners. In a 2-1 win over Philadelphia, he had primary assists on both Leafs goals and took home 3rd star honours. He followed it up by two game-winners in the following contests: he first sealed a 3-1 win over Washington with a powerplay marker and then had the decisive goal in a close 4-3 win over Ottawa, making him the 3rd star of the game. Lecavalier also led the team in shots (12) and hits (11) in the three games, while logging less than 19 minutes per game.

Goalie: Jean-Sebastien Giguere (78 overall) - 3 GP, 3-0-0, 1.67 GAA, .947% saves, 2x 1st star
After a stellar start to the season, Jiggy cooled off drastically. Last week, he had a great week though, winning all three starts and playing a big factor in these wins. He opened the week with 35 saves and 1st star honours in a 2-1 win over the Flyers before stopping 28 shots in a 3-1 win against the Capitals, again being awarded the 1st star of the game. He rounded out the week with 26 saves against the Senators in a 4-3 win.

Rookie- Brayden Schenn in 3 games had 2 goals, was +3, had 4 shots, 3 hits and was 17/34 on faceoffs for 50%. He was also 3rd star once.

Sorry if this was too late, forgot in all the excitement last night.

No nominations for the Islanders this week as we only played 2 games. I think it goes without saying that Pat should be poster of the week for his very intuitive conference reports. Looks like it took alot of work and in most cases very accurate.
