Iginla easily the worst player for the Flames. Stajan was so much better than 12. That says a lot folks. A lot.

Maybe people should begin to expect him to play more like 35 year old 2nd line Jarome instead of 26 year old 1st line Jarome.

I really can't see how they are faulting Irving. He's playing fairly well. You can clearly see his vision is there and he's following the play and reacting before the wild even know what they are doing.

Don't know much about Irving as a person but he must have pretty strong character and mental skills. All the hoopla today...playing his first ever game at home, solid start. Good for him.

Im not sold on him as an NHLer what so ever...but I have to agree.

Pretty impressive to flush out the rabble rabble of the day and be ready to just play tonight.

I actually feel bad for Hudler and Street having Iginla on their line at the moment. Iginla seems to be a step behind those guys as far as where the play is going. Pleasantly surprised with Street. For a small guy he is great along the boards.

Yes, he's had a much better start to this game, hope he continues to improve as he gets more comfortable at this level; I was very unhappy with his play in Vancouver, but that could have just been a product of playing with a bunch of players who all laid goose eggs last game.

Tangs from what I have seen is a step off of the puck. He lost it about five times without pressure from the opposing D. When it comes to Iginla, Tanguay and Cammy, just seems like they pout when they aren't together.

Hudler - Cervenka - Baertschi
Tanguay - Iginla - Glencross
Stempniak - Stajan - Cammalleri
Begin- Jones - Jackman

Wideman - Brodie
Giordano - Bouwmeester
Sarich - Butler
Babchuck

Kiprusoff
Irving

Imagine that lineup, playing the game we just saw in the 1st period. Gotta be honest and say I have higher hopes than last season despite a rough start.

Thought Irving was pretty solid in the first period, particularly with a huge save in the first or second shift on a terribly weak play by Tanguay. Pretty good PK by the Flames in the first as well. Not much for scoring chances for the Flames, not sure if Backstrom had to make a difficult stop.
